  • The SUNY New Paltz Global Scholar Opportunity grants successful New Paltz applicants a significant reduction in the cost of their program fee. This program aims to identify eligible students who demonstrate the ability to think critically about global issues and who are willing to invest in both the New Paltz community and their host community abroad.

  • The official currency of New Zealand is the New Zealand dollar ($ NZD). The above amounts are listed in US dollars.
  • Students from other SUNY campuses pay tuition to their HOME CAMPUS (remaining fees listed above paid to New Paltz).
  • Program fee covers:
    • Tuition differential
      • Tuition differential is added to SUNY New Paltz tuition to cover the instructional cost at the program site
  • Accommodations and Meals Breakdown: The price quoted above is the median price for housing, plus meals*.
    • Residence Hall Room rates will vary depending on the type of housing selected, anywhere from $2,165 to $4,720.  "Catered" Residence Halls provide all meals, whereas "Self-Catered" Halls provide communal or personal kitchens to prepare meals.  
    • *Meals are estimated at $2,000 for the semester in "Self Catered" Halls.
    • Cost of Room/Meals/Utility Charges/Deposit will vary depending on residence hall selected.
      Only students coming for Trimester 1 (Spring semester) incur a 10% surcharge
  • Students must also budget for a weekly spending allowance based on individual spending habits plus extracurricular travel.
