  • The Kingdom of Belgium is a country in northwest Europe. 
  • It is a founding member of the European Union and hosts its headquarters, as well as those of other major international organizations, including NATO.  Belgium covers an area of 11,787 square miles and has a population of about 10.5 million. 
  • Belgium is home for two main groups, the Flemings and the French Speakers, mostly Walloons, plus a tiny group of German speakers.
  • Brussels easily ranks as one of the world's most cosmopolitan and diverse cities. 
  • Over 300 international students from over 45 nationalities attend Vesalius College every semester, providing a truly cosmopolitan and culturally enriching environment. 
  • Classes are small and interactive, with no more than 25-35 students per class (sometimes as low as five or six) and personalized attention from professors.

  • Language of Instruction: Courses are taught in English.  Foreign Language instruction is offered in French and Dutch.
  • Credits: Upon successful completion of the program, participants will earn 12 or more undergraduate credits per semester.

Internship Opportunities

  • With Brussels as the world's top diplomatic city, top business center and host to the world's largest press corps, students can gain unique and valuable work experience by taking an internship at one of the many partner organizations associated with Vesalius College.  The internship will count as an academic course during the semester, and can be taken as a Major Elective giving you 6 ECTS (3 US academic credits) as well as a strong entry on your resume or CV.
  • The VIP is a highly competitive program, whereby students can perform real work at the international level while studying in Brussels.  Students who are highly committed to acquiring a first-hand experience by working in a multi-national setting in the heart of Europe are encouraged to apply.
  • Embedded internships are available in the following fields: Business Administration, International Affairs, Journalism and Publishing, Communication, and Information Technology.  See the Vesalius Internship Program (VIP) website for more information.
